Demon means genius, it also means devil. A genius devil is very dangerous to society, psychos are considered as mentally ill but from their perspective they are genius. When they execute the plan with cent percentage perfection, the happiness they receive will lead to another execution. Most of the reason for serial killing is pleasure they get. The superior complex psycho killers have when a soul begs for life and screams out for mercy, they feel god.
Dhana was a bit relaxed since no homicide has been reported. Durga tried to contact Pradap but he ignored her. Ramesh and Ganesh were busy tracing down Karupu who is Senthil’s goon crime partner, Karupu has smelled the police uniform before they reach his house. No doubt he got minions in his native.
Raghu back to his normal sense, he messaged Pradap an apology. Raghu coordinated a gathering with all his friends at one of the old and famous restaurants in Vadapalani.
On the parallel side of state, Govi trying his best to convince his superior officer Muthu for forming a special team on prostitutes’ murder case.
“Govi we have other work to do” Muthu said.
“He is a dangerous threat for women” Govi said.
“We don’t have enough resources, are we going to get money out of it” Muthu asked.
“No sir, but protecting people without any partiality is our duty, right” Govi said.
“Now, you can go, I will think about it” Muthu said and flipped the case file prepared by Govi with the similarities between the cases.
Truck marks were same, the murder weapon is same, and they were murdered after a rape. The cuts in the bodies have the same width and depth which means the pressure given to the weapon by a person is the same, even the semen samples taken from victim body matches, Blood samples taken from nails of victims are proven that DNA pattern is matching. All these matched just perfectly which clearly indicates the killer for both murders is the same.
Govi was checking with other police stations whether they have the same cases filled in their station. Over hearing Govi’s conversion, one of the constables said that he has got a call from Chennai police with regard to Komala’s case.
“Why you didn’t say” Govi raised his voice
“I forgot also I felt it’s not that important, because homicides in Chennai are male” Constable said.
“You have their contact number?” Govi asked.
“Yes” Constable said and flipped through his diary to check the contact number.
Govi immediately called Dhana’s office.
“Do you remember you have called Erode about a homicide case a couple of days back” Govi asked.
“Yes” Dhana answered crisply
“Did you get any lead?” Govi asked
“No, we are still working on it. why? what happened?” Dhana said
“There was another homicide that happened yesterday with the same pattern” Govi said.
“That’s interesting, can you send me the details and it will be helpful” Dhana said.
“Sure, let me know in case you get any lead” Govi said and disconnected.
Dhana called out Durga to check with Pradap whether Raghu is in the city.
“Pradap is not responding to my calls” Durga said with a low tone.
“You seem worried, you are a cop and you need to get him” Dhana said with a smile.
“Don’t confuse personal with profession” Dhana said.
“Okay, I will check with him, in case Raghu is in town, what is our plan” Durga asked.
“Raghu is a witness, he has to cooperate with police else it will be considered as a criminal act” Dhana said.
“You are clear now with a plan, it seems” Durga said and felt happy that Dhana is back to action.
“Guys, Thanks for coming” Raghu said.
Pradap and Raghu sat on one side of the table whereas Bhuvana and Divya sat on the other side.
“I felt there are gruesome situations between us, I want to iron it out” Raghu said.
“Let’s talk openly and be close friends like before” Raghu said
“I am leaving” Bhuvana said and stood up with a sarcastic body gesture.
“Please sit down” Pradap said.
“I need you guys, I became mentally ill without you guys, Please” Pradap pleaded and continued to look at her with the pettiest eye contact.
“That annoying puppy face again, it reminds me Sundeep” Divya said and stood strong.
Divya dragged her hand to make her sit down while Pradap phone started to ring.
“We are being together is jinx I guess, call from Durga” Pradap said.
“Pick it up” Divya said with curiosity.
“No, she is using me for the case, I am not going to pick the call” Pradap said.
“Let’s see, it may be emergency” Divya said.
Meanwhile Bhuvana’s face turned suspicious because she thought her friends didn’t know about her meeting with Durga. Raghu’s face turned irritated and oozed it out with words from mouth as “can’t they give a break for us”.
“Okay, I am picking it up” Pradap said and picked up the call.
“See, you treat me like a disturbance but I don’t give a damn, all I need from you is your help for the case” Durga kicked off her personal side with her crush which faded away her professionalism.
“You can’t use me like a minion, anyway what’s it” Pradap asked which made Durga more furious.
“See, I am not your fan girl, I am a cop mind it.” Durga said
“Okay” Pradap answered, disapproving of her.
“I want to know where Raghu is, we want him to come to the police station at evening” Durga said.
“Why, haven’t you heard what he said yesterday” Pradap said.
“He is suspect, we need few tests to run on him” Durga said
“Okay, I will bring him” Pradap said and disconnected.
“What’s it” Raghu asked.
“Okay, don’t panic, don’t get tensed. Raghu you are witness in serial killing and suspect in Sundeep’s murder, they need you in police station at evening” Pradap said.
“What the hell are they thinking” Raghu got furious in a second.
“Sorry guys, I pulled in Raghu in the investigation, but it is for Sundeep’s case” Bhuvana opened up.
“We know it” Pradap said.
Bhuvana was surprised whereas Divya fainted with more surprises. Raghu immediately did the first aid and stabilized her.
“Let’s end it today, that’s why we agreed to bring you” Pradap said.
“Let’s discuss later” Raghu said and started to leave the place. Pradap followed him.
Raghu stopped an auto to leave.
Pradap interrupted “Let’s go in bike”
“No, leave me alone” Raghu said and asked the auto driver “K.K. Nagar?”
“Its eighty rupees sir” Auto driver said.
“Place is just a few kilometers away” Raghu said.
“This is the rate” Auto driver said and started to be abusive.
“What the hell” Raghu started to talk but Pradap pushed him away.
“Please go “Pradap said to the auto driver.
Auto driver left and he never stopped abusing until he faded from eyesight.
“What is your problem” Raghu asked.
“What is yours, why are you being suspicious all the time, just tell me whether you have done something wrong” Pradap asked.
“No” Raghu shouted out.
“Then come to the police station with me at evening” Pradap asked.
“Okay, let’s go” Raghu said.
Pradap couldn’t judge Raghu. Raghu is genius or dangerous. Because of his attitude and rugged look, but his actions are sensible most of the time was the thought running in Pradap’s mind.
Ganesh and Ramesh have tracked Karupu’s location. They made a silent operation to take him down to the nearest wine shop. If Karupu is drunk then they can’t proceed with investigation for that day so they have to catch him before alcohol gets into his body.
Ganesh alerted the wine shop owner about the operation and they sat down in the corner of the wine shop. Karupu walked in with four of his friends. One from that group got six bottles of beer, sat next to him. Four police sat next to Karupu’s table; they were in mufti still their built body showed off. Karupu immediately grabbed a knife to point against one of the policemen. Before he and his minions pull out the knives, policemen rounded up Karupu’s team in fraction of second.
“Be smart, knives aren’t gonna help you” Ganesh said with the gun in hand.
Karupu screamed out and dropped the weapon.
“Sir, we got him” Ramesh said.
“Bring him here, Game is on” Dhana said and laughed out loud.
Evening of 29 June, 2008
“Raghu, I need your help” Dhana asked.
“I am happy to help” Raghu said.
“What you were doing at Erode on day of Sundeep’s murder” Dhana asked.
“I would have done anything; do you have any proof or any specific information so that I can answer on it” Raghu said.
“We need your blood samples and Semen for test” Dhana said.
“Okay” Raghu said and left to the lab with one of the constables.
Pradap asked to be waiting in the office until Raghu returns. Pradap understood he was a hostage.
“Good respect for the person who helped” Pradap said to Durga.
“I am sorry” Durga said and smiled.
Ramesh and Ganesh stormed into the office with Karupu. They made him sit in an investigation room.
“If you want, you can see the investigation” Dhana said to Pradap.
Pradap moved with the team to monitor Dhana’s investigation.
“I am innocent” Karupu said
“I haven’t even said what you were arrested for. Just wait dude” Dhana said.
“I know I have been arrested for Sundeep’s homicide” Karupu said.
“That old man would have changed as an approver for the felony” Karupu continued with his theory.
“Great, you got a brain but the old man said my caste doesn’t back stabbers, so he didn’t even say a word about you” Dhana said.
“I too have a brain. We traced you with your phone call to your girlfriend. We would have arrested you before you reached the wine shop but we wanted to know your weapon, it’s just a mind game” Dhana said in a sarcastic tone.
“Now, tell me who killed Sundeep” Dhana asked.
“I don’t know” Karupu said.
Tkkkkkkkkkk a hard slap sound, Dhana has suddenly lost his cool. “You have already confused the case. I am in a very bad mood. Don’t let me kill you in the cell.” Dhana shouted out with a sarcastic smile on his face.
Suddenly a class person turned into a mass person in front of his juniors.
Karupu started to cry because he couldn’t hold the pain which slap has given. His cheeks had a mark of Dhana’s four fingers.
“I haven’t killed him, but I don’t know the killer” Karupu said.
“You want to tell something else before you die” Dhana asked.
“I have seen how Sundeep died but I don’t know the killer” Karupu said.
“Interesting, interest me more with detailing” Dhana said.
Karupu started to describe the story of the Sundeep murder. Divya’s father arranged us to murder Sundeep. We were following Sundeep’s car on the day they went to the airport. We wanted to kill him at kathipaara junction where half of the construction work is in progress. But he had halted near a hospital, the road was so deserted we thought to attack him there but suddenly a person came to him, so we thought to wait until the person leaves. Meanwhile I got a call from my girlfriend. I spoke with her for a few seconds. We were hiding in the dark. Suddenly that guy pushed Sundeep down and threw a huge stone on him and repeated to make sure his head was smashed. We didn’t stop the killer because he has done our job. Killer then took some money from his pocket and ran away, we just reversed our car and left the place before Divya rushed there so we lost track of the killer. I lied to Senthil that I killed Sundeep” Karupu said and sipped a glass of water.
“You know what you have done” Dhana said with a serious face which made Karupu more worried about whether he was going to slap him again.
Dhana rushed out and brought Raghu’s picture into the investigation room.
“The guy who killed Sundeep was like this” Dhana asked.
“No, he looked like a goon, this guy is decent” Karupu said.
Dhana called a constable in and asked him to get details from Karupu. Dhana was really upset and pissed off that his theory on Raghu is totally demolished. Dhana thought Raghu was not in Erode, he was in Chennai and he is a psychopath.
Raghu has arrived after thirty minutes. Pradap and Dhana’s team sat in horror that the entire case is facing a new direction now.
“What happened” Raghu asked.
“Sundeep was not killed by goon set by Senthil, he was killed by another guy” Pradap said.
Raghu just felt the horror others had but he was mentally not ready to take up anything new. “So we can leave” Raghu asked Pradap.
“Dhana wants to talk with you, don’t upset him just cooperate, you don’t know his real face. Please cooperate” Pradap said.
Raghu looked into Pradap eyes, he was serious. Raghu went to Dhana.
“Can I leave” Raghu asked.
“I am sorry, I gave a lot of trouble. I need your help” Dhana asked.
“How can I” Raghu said.
“Answer me few questions” Dhana said
“Sure” Raghu said
“Were you in Chennai or Erode on the day of Sundeep’s homicide” Dhana asked.
“I was in Erode” Raghu said.
“On the other day a rag picker was killed, you have called the police station but don’t want to be a witness, why” Dhana said.
“I have already got into a lot of troubles. Don’t want to get into another one.” Raghu said.
“We need to know more details” Dhana asked.
“Can I give a statement tomorrow, not in mood today, sorry” Raghu said.
“Sure, one more question” Dhana said.
“Have you seen any of these ladies” Dhana showed photos of Komala and Rekha.
“Yes, I have seen her. I came in a truck and it stopped in a motel. From there the truck driver said he couldn’t take me further and went with this woman” Raghu said and pointed to Komala’s photo.
“Any more detail I can get” Dhana asked.
“There were two men in the truck, yesterday I also came in their truck” Raghu said.
“Truck driver looks like a gigantic figure, he has a Moustache that can scare anyone. He always carries black handbag with him” Raghu said.
“Thank you Raghu, please come tomorrow for give a statement” Dhana said.
“Sure” Raghu said and left.
Dhana felt happy though all his theory and his team’s theory failed. Still he got a new direction to these cases, the real directions. Demons have been unveiled and it became clear that Chennai and Erode killer are different.
Raghu and Pradap had a booze party to celebrate, Bhuvana and Divya also were part of it.
Next day 30th of June, 2008, morning…
Divya turned into a news channel, Auto driver has been murdered in vadapalani with a smashed head.
Pradap was stunned to see the news and said “he was the driver who created a problem with us yesterday”.
“If yesterday Karupu haven’t said about the killer, I would’ve been suspect even for this auto driver murder” Raghu said and smiled.
“Oh! Stop it” Bhuvana said.
