Chapter 3: Unfaithful
We all have our dark side which we don’t want anyone to know. We have history that we want erase it with acid, literally no trace. We had relationships that broken us into pieces and memories that can burn us in bed.
We have been always faithful to unfaithful. Some of us are afraid, fear of being known to someone which always haunts us, and if that person is ready to reveal us we can go to any degree to stop.
“Hello, I have something to tell, meet me at KFC by tomorrow morning 10” call has been disconnected. Durga felt like a prank call but she wanted to give a shot.

2.20 AM
Near vadapalani, a police patrol stopped in front of tea stall for regular bribe. Tea stall serial of bulbs blinks with high intensity which can fade out the power of eyes. Seeing those lights at nighttime is seeing the sun at daytime. A scream was heard from nearby streets, one of the constables started the patrol vehicle whereas the other policeman without delay started running towards the sound source. As the body weight of policeman slows him down but he kept pushing hard. While he reached, there was rag picker who has been hit hard with a heavy stone on head and constant bleeding from head. He immediately called out for help and victim has been sent to hospital.
Before they come out of the shock from what happened to rag picker. Usual radio sound has been popped out from walkie talkie which followed by message that there has been an incident nearby Kamala theatre, someone panicked and called a police control room. Policeman and constable immediately started the patrol and accelerated to reach Kamala theatre as soon as possible. Within few meters away from reported location, police can sense something is burning. They got down and slowly moved towards the burning object. When they got near to that, constables have realized it is a human set to ablaze. They immediately reported to control room and seek for assistance. One of the constables doesn’t have stomach to hold it up with the smell it produced. No wonder that burning human body smells worse but when the fire burnt hair and flesh with nerves which had running blood?
“Sir, can you come to station, we have bad news” Ganesh said over phone.
“What’s it at the late hours” Dhana asked
“There has been homicide reported” Ganesh said
“What, does it happen again?” Dhana asked
“Yes sir, can you please come?” Ganesh requested
“Okay, did you call Ramesh” Dhana asked.
“Not yet Sir, do you want me to call?” Ganesh said
“No, don’t spoil his celebration mood, he may also have weak knees now” Dhana said and laughed.
While driving to the police station, Dhana has seen Raghu walking in the streets.
“Excuse me” Dhana shouted
“What are you doing here” Dhana asked while Raghu was so weak to walk and managed to get nearby Dhana.
“I was at Pradap’s house. I have something important at early morning so leaving now to my home” Raghu said
“by walk?” Dhana asked
“I have parked my vehicle in Sundeep’s apartment, I will take from there.” Raghu said.
Dhana was fine with Raghu’s explanation, though there is a slight alcohol smell from him.
Morning 4 AM
“Sir, there is another burnt human body found near Porur” Ganesh said.
“Oh god! It’s a doom day” Dhana said.
Triple attack on same day which was a wakeup call for police department and for media. Flash news were all over city and the state about triple attack, morning of Chennai on 26 June 2008 was a dark day, not from sky but from hearts of people. Press people were crowded up at the crime scenes, satellite TV vans and production people made the road piled up.
News flashed in public assembly places and people there had a serious discussion about how the world has been changed. It took four murders and one attempt murder to make us realize that we have a serious concern and we should have been bit careful. All who have been died are stoned to death, outflow from their forehead and lost their conscious when their dream and life slowly faded away from their mind. Worrying makes them weaker and panic, panic attack is the easiest way to put them in death bed. Ultimately people don’t know to defend themselves from this kind of attack, who knows it? danger is next to us all time.
Erode district
Govi and Gopal assigned to some other case as it was not beneficial for Muthu who is a senior officer, he intended to close Komala homicide case as untraceable. He arrested few ladies in brothel case for the sake of bribe, based on confession from Komala’s husband. Next day he released them.
Chennai
Durga was waiting in KFC for unknown caller and she has informed to Dhana. He has confirmed that let it go in flow and identify the killer. There is a surprise walked in front of Durga. The caller is Bhuvana. Now Sundeep’s case turning more personal and the killer started to unseal from the shadows.
“Hey, how are you holding up?” Durga asked.
“That’s the correct way of asking the sad person” Bhuvana said “How I am holding up?”.
Durga stunned with the response and couldn’t make immediate eye contact to Bhuvana. When Durga was trying to regain her thoughts to precede meanwhile Bhuvana herself started again.
“It’s hard time for our gang, all are being silent and staying home except one” Bhuvana said.
“Oh, who is it, why are we having this meeting” Durga said.
“Raghu, he is becoming worse day by day, I am not sure why he went to Erode on the day of Sundeep’s murder or he is trying to create an alibi to avoid being suspect” Bhuvana just spoke out whatever she had in her heart as if she was mesmerized.
“Why is it, why you are being more suspicious on Raghu” Durga asked without showing the shock in her face.
“I don’t know, it’s just women intuition, we usually have it right? He also had interest on Divya” Bhuvana said.
“Yeah, that’s correct” Durga accepted her point.
“I don’t want to tell this to your superior guy, basically male don’t understand us” Bhuvana said.
“We will consider this, and we may need your friends’ mobile numbers for further investigation” Durga asked.
Bhuvana has given their mobile numbers to Durga and asked to inform her in case of any help or any updates which may help us finding the killer. Bhuvana’s curiosity and perspective on Sundeep murder interested Durga. But who want to stay close with investigation team for updates? May be killer?!
Durga kept staring Pradap’s number though it have four other mobile numbers including Sundeep’s wife Divya.

Being a widow is hard, each and every step has to be careful as because there is always a group of people ready to blame and shame. Rekha is a widow and newbie for prostitution, she has tried her best to not enter into the dark business but she lost control on expenditure of her mother in law’s health issues. Rekha has been a main source of income and her hubby was a lazy guy who worked for daily wages, most of the time he sleep or drink. Rekha and her Mother in law are so much attached as because they took care of each other. Mother in law took care of house hold works since Rekha was working. Rekha don’t have kids as because her husband was busy with wetting the pants unconsciously. Rekha was enjoying the movie in theatre at Salem to Kochi highway without knowing what was going to happen to her.
