She is so vulnerable. She could lose her life for any of the above. Not only men, at times women go badly on women. I have received a case where the girl committed suicide and she has been married for two years. The first doubt we get in our mind, she is not happy with her marriage life and in most cases, the doubt will be true.
When I reached the spot, I started my investigation. Before autopsy report comes, I have to be clear on what the family’s stand point.Bhavani’s mother stated that her daughter has been tormented by her mother in law for a baby.Her father said the same. I have enquired whether any dowry issue added oil to the fire. It seems both the families are rich enough, so dowry is not a problem and also mentioned his son in law didn’t demand any form of dowry, his only condition was he wants to live with his parents.Bhavani’s mother in law said that like all other mother in law do, I did force for kids, nothing in serious mode. He seems kind and composed human. He is bit worried about the public talk.I have spanned my investigation with neighbors thought. One of the neighbors seems to be very close friend to her. She has mentioned that Bhuvana has been mentally tortured by in laws for a baby. She always seemed worried after few months of marriage life. But her husband was very kind and cooperative.Now the important person of her life, Bhavani’s husband, he didn’t have a single complaint on her. ” I even said her baby is not a big deal. We can adopt a child. I could not believe she is no more in my life.” her husband Karthik said.I have a special team in cyber dept. I have asked them to check her profiles and posts. I also had a doubt that her mother in law is hiding something. She seems to be a fake person. Before going on with investigation, I wanted to get the autopsy report first. Usually digital reports will be generated after three weeks in special cases but this case will take three days as the pathologist said.I have investigated few of her colleagues and found she is close with one male coworker. He seems to be her junior but they usual hang around together was the general talk. He has been all over in her social media profile.I felt like case has a little diversion from usual suspicion path. I have to revisit all the witnesses.
After three days
As doctor said, I received a report which said pressure in her throat caused her death and shocking fact is she was eight weeks pregnant. For a second I thought entire case moves in different direction, usually my instinct will be correct but this time it is bit complicated. The source issue seems to be not the actual issue. Lot of confusions rose within two minutes of time.Why does her mother in law keep tormenting her if she is pregnant?Why her husband didn’t mention about her pregnancy?Why her friends and family doesn’t even know she is pregnant?Or why they are all hiding the information?My entire body was throbbing to go to Bhavani’s house and check about all the information but we do have formalities. I have scheduled a time with Bhavani’s family.

I have started with her mother in law.“Have you ever tormented your daughter in law?” I asked.“No” She replied.“I ain’t going to ask again and again or in multiple questions. I want answers from you and it makes over life easier” I said.“I have scolded many times, it became daily habit to yell at her and even one day I hit her. “ She said and started to cry.“Don’t ever do that, whether you know the felony you committed” I asked.“I was scolding her for their good. What is wrong in it?” She said.“So you don’t know that you committed a crime and you are going locked up in a cell.” I said.“No, Please don’t scare me. I scolded for their good, nothing else. I stopped scolding her in recent days” She said.“Is it because she was carrying?” I asked.“What?” Her eyes widened. “We have checked with a doctor few months back and came to know that she is good in fertility. I don’t have guts to realize my son has a problem” She said and whipped her tears. She continued and said that she doesn’t know her daughter in law is pregnant.I continued investigating Bhavani’s neighborhood friend. She has confirmed she knows that Bhavani was good in fertility but her husband has trouble due to his stress level. She also mentioned Bhavani’s husband was very worried and devastated that he is going to be no longer a father.Karthick, Bhavani’s husband reached my office after his office hours. He was very tired and exhausted.“Usually you will go home this exhausted?” I asked.“Yes, I have high pressure work, more responsibilities?” Karthick said.“Let me come straight to point. Do you know that your wife is pregnant?” I asked.“No, I don’t” Karthick said and cried.“If your mother doesn’t know it, it is bit acceptable. But she lives with you, haven’t you noticed her morning sickness?” I asked.“No, I am a bad husband. I usually spend most of the time in office. I could have been a better husband” Karthick said and cried more and more and kept continuing it for ten minutes. I asked him to wait outside. Meanwhile Bhavani’s office friend Joush reached to my office. I was bit wondering all this corporate people have no timing in work as Joush also looks exhausted.“Coming straight from office?” I asked.“Yes, I had an important deliverable and my senior is no more” Joush said.“Josh, you are one and only colleague who worked closely with her” I said and he agreed by nodding.“Did she say any of her personal?” I asked.“As everyone knows she had problem with pregnancy and lot of them blaming and shaming her by direct and indirect. She used to say to all these I was supportive to her” Joush said.“Anything specific about her husband” I asked and Joush said no but he hesitated and seemed like hiding something. I put a little bit pressure on him by emotional talk.“After they come to know Karthick has fertility problem, he become a total different person and he started to doubt her more. That’s all I know” Joush said.“Okay, you can leave now” I said and departed him from office. I called back Karthick.“Are you okay now?” I asked.“Yes, better” Karthick answered while whipping his tears.“So you don’t know that she is pregnant?” I asked again.“No, if I would have been a happy person” Karthick said.“Don’t you have a fertility issue” I asked.“Yes, I do” He answered.“Do you believe that your wife have an affair outside marriage” I asked. He started to shiver and his mouth trembled and didn’t even utter a word.“It’s better you say it” I said and he is educated so understood what I said.“I have an excessive masturbation habit so obstetrician confirmed and scared us that I can’t give birth to a baby. I was worried but within few weeks she said, she’s pregnant” He said and continued.“Later I came to know she is having affair with her colleague” He said.“Have you seen it” I asked.“Do I have to see it? She is pregnant and I am not father of it” He said“So” I asked.“I did justice for the cheater. I killed her and pretended like a suicide” He said with full arrogance in his eyes.She immediately locked him up and started for other procedures. Though he said she had an affair there is no proof for it. He cannot justify a murder though she had an affair also. It takes three to four weeks to get advanced results in any case. I had to wait for it to find the father of the kid. We have carried out investigation with her colleague Joush again but he disagreed to the affair statement. We have carried a paternity test.
After few weeks the results came. Paternity test said Karthick is the father.
